April Forecast

It's all happening perfectly

April is probably one of the busier months of the year astrologically. We have the New Lunar Year on April 8, which also happens to be a total solar eclipse. Mars catches up with Saturn in Aquarius, with Jupiter meeting with Uranus in Aries. This places Mars and Saturn on one side of the New Moon and Jupiter and Uranus on the other. This makes for so many new possibilities, yet many frustrating false starts.

We may even see a comet appear in our skies in April (if we are ‘lucky’). Comets, known as Ketus, in ancient India, are harbingers of change. When added to the eclipses and Mercury’s retrograde, along with the conjunctions, change is the only thing we can be sure of this month.

Mercury’s retrograde from Aries, and its return to Pisces the day after the eclipse, adds to the lack of clarity about how exactly we can move forward. April is best used for working things out in more creative ways, not necessarily for being clear about the details as yet.

The Mars-Saturn conjunction in Aquarius is tense. As it’s a signature for the year ahead, what we do with that tension will be important. Some things may buckle under pressure, with others feeling just enough to focus on getting things done. As usual, individual blueprints matter.

While Jupiter’s conjunction with Uranus in Aries, in a trine to Mars and Saturn, is more hopeful, Mars’ subsequent conjunction with Uranus in July may trigger something that’s been set off now. Natural disasters and attacks are likely expressions.

Jupiter joins Uranus by an exact degree on April 20. This is exciting and optimistic but maybe a little delusional when we consider Rahu and Neptune in Pisces. No matter, it still feels better than the Mars-Saturn conjunction. Yet this means Jupiter is busy dealing with something unexpected, which may challenge our sense of what is right during the eclipses.

One of the more positive expressions in April is Venus’ exaltation in Pisces, despite it being involved with the eclipse along with all the other planets. And while it’s not unusual to see Venus in Pisces in April, we’ll take whatever joy we can at this point.

We're likely feeling at least a little idealistic as we grapple with many changes. The many changes themselves are likely to fuel a more optimistic stance.

Mars moves into Pisces and joins Neptune by an exact degree on April 29, which also sees Mercury having rejoined Rahu as it stations direct from April 25. This is likely a highly charged and confusing time, despite the excitement of the new potentials opening up.

If we can keep an open mind throughout, we can take advantage of all these new possibilities, whatever comes out of the blue - out of Pisces.
